To say that I'm excited for my friends is an understatement. Elated? Ecstatic? Overwhelmed with joy and anticipation? These still feel like understatements. When we moved to Alabama two and a half years ago, we had to rebuild our community from scratch. It was overwhelming and a big change, and we were searching so hard for "our people", or a group of close friends with whom we felt at home. Lee and Skyla took us into their small group, introduced us to their church family, which has since been a cornerstone of our life in Tuscaloosa, and have hosted us in their home every week since.

We shared so many game nights, meals, prayers, and celebrations, and now we get to continue doing life together as they become parents. What an absolute honor it was to take their maternity photos as they await the arrival of their daughter. We split our time between Capitol Park and the Courthouse in Tuscaloosa and though the forecast projected heavy rain all afternoon, we were able to wrap up photos right as the first drops fell. Emma Grace - I can't wait meet you and watch you grow! You hit the jackpot when it comes to parents (and honorary family like us)!
