I had the lyrics to Coldplay's "Yellow" running through my head while editing this gallery, because look at this bright, cheery nursery! Kristin likes bright colors and wanted to incorporate sunflowers and warm colors into Emmy's room, with the focal point being this beautiful yellow wall. The entire session felt warm and happy, with baby Emmy being awake and alert for most of the session. It really shows that even if your baby is fighting sleep during a newborn session, the photos will still be wonderful because you can get their personality on camera.

The bonus was their dog Luna, who really loved being photographed and made her way into most of the nursery photos. She's the perfect model though, so nobody minded! We had rescheduled this session to a sunny weather day so that we could get photos on their front porch and in their backyard. The midday light looks stunning on the fall trees, and I love that we could add some diverse settings to their gallery. We rounded the session out with photos of details, photos of little Emmy in her crib, and ones with her parents' hands and her cute little toy. Everything to capture and preserve how little newborns are for this brief, special time!
